What brought me to the world of UX design?
Coming from colors, patterns and design in the fashion industry lead me to wanting to learn and develop more in other areas that involved these elements. While working in product development within fashion, I became interested in graphic design while collaborating with the marketing team. This sparked my desire to pursue a role related to digital marketing.
I soon got my feet wet and started with visual content designs. This was my first real "taste" in working on something that was somewhat related to a user's experience.
The imagery I designed (lifestyle images for furniture) played a key part in helping a user visualize a piece of furniture in a specific setting. From there, my passion moved into e-commerce. I began helping entrepreneurs with their e-commerce storefronts and businesses; essentially their website designs and marketing strategies. We looked into layouts, branding, color schemes, fluidity, page load etc. while reviewing traffic, conversion rates and other analytical data.
The deeper I dove, the more involved I became with wanting to understand the psychology of a user and their experience while navigating certain websites, platforms and applications. From my end of things, I can see a story form based on a visitor's behaviour on a website, but I now wanted to learn about the other side of things. What stories will they tell and how can I use this knowledge to help add value to my customers who wanted to start an online business?
...And so I entered the world of UX Design.
